Bureau of Meteorology records for the Wollongong coast show what most locals already suspect: from November to March the 9 am air stays above 70% relative humidity, peaking in February. Cleaning removes visible growth, not the moisture feeding it. NSW Health's mould factsheet says mould is likely to return unless the cause is also treated, which is why a lasting fix starts with finding the source.

Is black mould dangerous?
